The Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT), now officially the Army Fitness Test (AFT) as of June 2025, is the U.S. Army's physical fitness assessment. It consists of 5 events: 3-Repetition Maximum Deadlift (MDL), Hand Release Push-Up (HRP), Sprint-Drag-Carry (SDC), Plank (PLK), and Two-Mile Run (2MR). Each event is scored 0-100 points for a maximum of 500. Our calculator applies the official age- and gender-normed scoring tables so you can instantly see your total score, pass/fail status, and which events need the most improvement.
The ACFT (Army Combat Fitness Test) was adopted as the Army's official test of record in 2022, replacing the 40-year-old APFT. On June 1, 2025, the Army renamed it the AFT (Army Fitness Test) and removed the Standing Power Throw, leaving 5 events. Two scoring standards exist: Combat, which is gender-neutral and used for soldiers in combat MOSs (Military Occupational Specialties), and General, which is age- and gender-normed for all other soldiers. Every soldier must score at least 60 points per event and meet the minimum total score for their standard.
Scoring Formula
Total Score = MDL + HRP + SDC + PLK + 2MR (each 0-100 points, max 500)Reflects the June 2025 transition from ACFT to AFT with 5 events (no Standing Power Throw), using the latest scoring tables.

A score of 450+ out of 500 is considered excellent. Most soldiers aim for at least 360-400 to comfortably pass. A perfect 500 requires maxing every event, which is rare.
For the General standard, you need at least 300 total points and a minimum of 60 points per event. For the Combat standard, you need 350 total points with 60 per event.
Yes. On June 1, 2025, the Army renamed the ACFT to AFT (Army Fitness Test) and removed the Standing Power Throw (SPT). The test now has 5 events instead of 6.
The 5 events are: 3-Rep Maximum Deadlift (MDL), Hand Release Push-Up (HRP), Sprint-Drag-Carry (SDC), Plank (PLK), and Two-Mile Run (2MR).
Combat standards are gender-neutral and apply to soldiers in combat-designated MOSs. They require 350 total points. General standards are age- and gender-normed and require 300 total points.
The ACFT uses 10 age groups from 17-21 to 62+. Older age groups have adjusted scoring tables that account for natural decline in physical capacity, making the test equitable across ages.
Yes. Soldiers who fail are typically given 90 days to retake the test. Your commander may authorize an earlier retest. Failing does not result in immediate separation but may affect promotions and assignments.
The Standing Power Throw (SPT) was removed entirely in the June 2025 transition to the AFT. The test now has 5 events with a maximum score of 500 instead of 600.
