Plan Your Flooring Project Accurately

Installing new floors? Our flooring calculator helps you determine exactly how much material you need, accounting for waste. Get box counts for hardwood, laminate, tile, vinyl, or carpet in square feet or square metres, with an optional cost estimate in your own currency.

Understanding Flooring Calculations

Flooring is sold by the box, and each box covers a set area (roughly 15-25 sq ft for hardwood or tile, up to ~30 sq ft for vinyl plank). You calculate the room area, add 10-15% extra for cuts, mistakes, and future repairs, then divide by the coverage printed on your carton to get the number of boxes.
