How ACT Scoring Works

The ACT has four sections, each scored 1-36. Your composite score is the average of these four section scores, rounded to the nearest whole number. The optional Writing section is scored separately (2-12).

ACT Composite Formula

Composite = (English + Math + Reading + Science) / 4
