Round numbers using standard rounding, ceiling, floor, truncate, or to the nearest value. See detailed steps and understand different rounding methods. Essential for data analysis, finance, and everyday calculations.
Rounding reduces the number of digits while keeping the value close to the original. Standard rounding looks at the next digit: if 5 or more, round up; if less than 5, round down. Other methods include ceiling (always up), floor (always down), and truncate (toward zero).

If digit ≥ 5, round up; if digit < 5, round downRound currency values to cents or whole dollars.

Express measurements with appropriate precision.
Floor always rounds toward negative infinity (down for positive, more negative for negative numbers). Truncate rounds toward zero (removes decimals). For positive numbers they're the same, but floor(-2.5)=-3 while trunc(-2.5)=-2.
